Hi, normally Agent Ransack searches endnotes and footnotes in a Word document, as well as the main text. But it's not searching the notes of one file. To my knowledge there's nothing different about the notes in this file, I created them the same way as any other.

If you're using the Lite version then searchable text is taken from your installed Office IFilter. If you're using the Pro version then then inbuilt Word reader should read the footnotes just fine, please send a sample to Support.

Lite version. I've now rebuilt the Windows 11 index. (I didn't see anything specifically for Office aside from downloading and installing iFilter 2010, which I did.) The result was the same--in fact I discovered that in one file, some endnotes are searchable and some aren't!  Weird. But as you indicate, this is a Windows issue, not Agent Ransack's.
Although the Lite version uses IFilters to read Word files, it does not use the Windows 11 index. Having Windows indexing switched on/off won't affect the program.
