Hello,
I have a question about searching the index:
I've created an index that includes some emails.
I've noticed that I can't search the index using the NEAR operator.
It looks like this, or rather, this is the example I've observed:

Email address in the index: “first.second@gmail.com”

Searching for “first” = email is found (works),
Searching for “second” = email is found (works),
Searching for “first” NEAR “second” = email is not found (doesn't work).

Am I doing something wrong, or is this search simply not possible?

Thanks for your help!

The NEAR operator does work in index searches but remember that by default the search terms must match at the start of the search word.

first.second@gmail.com

will be indexed as a single term. 'first' will match properly but 'second' is not searchable unless you put a '*' in front of it.

I assume your 'second' search worked because it was found somewhere else within the text.
