Shrink index

Question

Hi Dave,

I removed a lot of files from the folders which get indexed. But after updating the index, the index size remains the same.

Is there a way to purge old index data?

You can use the 'compact' command to free up old data.

Close Index Manager, and all other programs that might have the index open, then from the command line type:

flpidx.exe -name "IndexName" -compact
