Hello, Dave,
use the latest version of FileLocator Pro Version 8 (build 2929).
Have noticed the following:

Case A:
if the term "for example" is entered in the index search, then all word groups are found correctly.

Case B:
if I enter the term LIKE "for example" in the index search, FLPro will find the same files that contain the term, but no result will be displayed in the hits list. The number of hits is also not displayed.
If I enter only LIKE for example as a search, i.e. without quotation marks, then a result that is not satisfactory is obtained with too many terms containing "for".

Question: is a group of words like "for example" with quotation marks and combinable with the LIKE operator, if yes, what am I doing wrong?

It looks like it's a bug, ie LIKE "word1 word2", does not work properly with the index search.

It'll be fixed in the next release.
