I don't want to index temporary files (starting with "~$").

How can I exclude such files from the index?

I already tried the "Exclusion filter" in the "Multiple Folders" dialog, but there is no explanation in which format I need to enter it.

I have the exact question. Is there a way to exclude files while indexing?

You can exclude file types by using the 'Specific Files:' section in the index setting, e.g.

Specific Files: NOT:~$

See below:

Do not index

Thank you very much!
The image in your post isn't showing when browsers are configured to ignore plain text resources on an otherwise transport-encrypted page. Perhaps all of those links pointing back to this site, but http://, could be adjusted?
