Documentation states the escape character is a backslash \ but it doesn't work when trying to escape a *...

Anyone know how I can do this?

Assuming you're using the Boolean expression just put it in quotes, e.g.

Containing Text: "1024 * 32"

That doesn't work... I'm specifically looking for the instance of `**` (two asterisks) and putting it in quotes returns everything
ah, you're right "**" doesn't work,  I'll log it as a bug. For now you'll need to use  either regex \*\* or plain text **
