I often use Agent Ransack to look for files by name. How do I stop it from searching through all the various kinds of archive files that are all over my hard disk (.cabb, zip, .7z, .gz, etc)? It's extremely rare that what I'm looking for is in an archive, but Agent Ransack takes about 4x as long when it searches through these.

Agent Ransack doesn't look inside archive files if you're searching only by file name. It would only try searching inside archive file if you did a 'Containing Text' search and even then it would be a basic binary search rather than a proper archive search (for that you'd need FileLocator Pro).

Thank you. That's good news and good information.
