Unable to uninstall old version of Agent Ransack, error: "unins000.dat" does not exist

I'm trying to install the latest version of Agent Ransack but the installation process tells me that I must first manually uninstall the older version (Agent Ransack 2010). When I try to do that I get an error informing me that unins000.dat does not exist.

Try deleting the installation folder, e.g.

C:\Program Files\Mythicsoft\Agent Ransack

If that doesn't work because some files are in use you need to run this command:

regsvr32 /u shellext.dll

you should then reboot and try deleting the folder again.

If the folder deletes correctly you then need to delete the registry key which the installer uses to detect the old install:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Agent Ransack_is1

Finally, try installing the new version again. Any problems please contact Support.
